How to Measure Your Dogs Collar Size
This is a guide to help you to measure your dogs collar size. Please remember that it is always best to go up in length rather than down. So, if you’re on the fence on a particular size, remember always round up!
To achieve the most accurate collar measurement lay an existing collar on a clean, flat surface. Start the tape measure at the hole you use the most (this will be heavily marked and easy to spot) and measure to the end of the collar, where it meets the buckle (as pictured in the diagram located in the pictures). Collars are measured in centimetres and you should round up the nearest centimetre. If you measure 39 centimetres, you will want to purchase a large collar (34cm-47cm) or a “Custom” size with a note indicating that your dogs measurements are 39cm (Best fit).
How to Choose a Collar based on your Dogs Neck Size
You can also obtain your belt size by measuring your actual pet. To do this, take your tape measure and place it around your dogs neck. Ensure that you van get at least two to three fingers under the tape measure, it’s important that the collar is a slightly relaxed fit. When taking the measurement. Measure in centimetres and round up to the centimetre. Choose the collar size that is closest to the measurements on the following sizing guides:
Small – 19cm – 27cm
Medium – 24cm – 37cm
Large – 34cm – 47cm
XLarge – 44cm – 57cm
XXLarge – 54cm 67cm
Custom – Please leave a note when ordering regarding size in centimetres.
Custom Sizes
The best fitting collar of course is custom made to suit your dog perfectly. As all collars are made to order, I am more than happy to make a custom size at no extra charge. Please just ensure you select “Custom” when ordering and leave a note advising of the exact measurements of your dogs neck. I will take this measurement and make it the middle hole on the collar. This will ensure plenty of movement either way should you dog gain/lose weight.
Leviathan (Harness Leather Belt)
Leviathan Series (Handmade Harness Leather Belt)
All of our Leviathan series belts are constructed using the best quality 4mm full grain Australian Harness leather in Old World Tan that has been tanned and finished in Geelong. Harness leather has a heavier weight and firmer feel than our normal Preston leather and is designed for ultra heavy duty use and may potentially be the last leather belt you will ever need to buy. Because this leather has been created for use with horses, it is more resilient to sweat and water because it has been stuffed with more waxes and oils. Each belt is hand cut in either 32mm (to suit dress pants) or 38mm widths (jeans). Once cut, they are trimmed to length and painstakingly hand burnished for a silky-smooth semi-gloss finish. We then add our high-quality Japanese made solid brass buckle and keeper with the use of solid brass removable Chicago screws. Finishing off with our trademark EDL sigil proudly displayed on the belt tip. These belts blend style and durability and will be a stunning addition to anyone’s wardrobe and will suit any occasion. Please be aware that each belt made from harness leather will contain natural scars and imperfections, which in no way affect the performance of the belt, they just add a touch of character and charm to your new forever belt.
How to Measure Your Belt Size
This is a guide to help you to measure your belt size. Please remember that it is always best to go up in length rather than down. So, if you’re on the fence on a particular size, remember always round up!
To achieve the most accurate belt measurement lay your existing belt on a clean, flat surface. Start the tape measure at the hole you use the most (this will be heavily marked and easy to spot) and measure to the end of the belt, where it meets the buckle (as pictured in the diagram located in the pictures). Belts are measured in inches and you should round up the nearest inch. If you measure 35 inches, you will want to purchase a size 36 belt.
How to Choose a Belt Size based on Pant Size
Another easy way to determine belt size is to simply add 2-3 inches to your pant size (remember to be honest as a belt never lies). For example, if you normally wear a 35 inch waist pair of pants, then a 38 inch belt will be your safest bet. Most will find this simple formula works best for pants worn at a traditional height which is close to your natural waistline. For a belt to wear with low rise trousers or jeans, consider adding 3 or 4 to your pant size to allow extra room. Please remember this is a rough guide and a measurement of your previous belt will be far more accurate as we tend to mislead ourselves into what pant size we actually wear.
How to Measure Your Body for Belt Size
You can also obtain your belt size by measuring your actual body. To do this, start by threading your tape measure through the belt loops of your favourite pair of pants. It’s important to stand in a relaxed, natural position, do not push out your belly or suck it in. Just relax! When taking the measurement. The measuring tape should be snug. Measure in inches and round up to the nearest inch. Choose the belt size closest to this measurement (remember to go up, not down).
General Belt Information
Over time, our leather belts tend to stretch. If you receive your belt and it’s a little snug, do not worry, a belt that fits snug initially will likely wear more comfortably as time goes by. Just put it to work, our harness leather belts are able to take a beating.
